Sunshiki Welcomes Delegation from the Government of Belize and UNIDO

From June 29 to July 3, 2026, as part of a study tour to Japan by the Government of Belize and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), a delegation visited our Tokyo office for an exchange on seaweed cultivation and processing technology.

The study tour was conducted as part of Belize's efforts to develop its first National Industrial Strategy, centered on the blue and green economy. A delegation from the Government of Belize — including the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Investment, and the Ministry of the Blue Economy — together with representatives from UNIDO headquarters, traveled to Japan to learn from the country's experience in sustainable industrial development, the blue economy, and seaweed cultivation and biomass utilization.

Sunshiki introduced its proprietary seaweed-related technologies and business model, and shared its work on reducing methane emissions from cattle using Asparagopsis. The visit was an opportunity for a candid exchange on the challenges of developing the seaweed industry.

We would like to thank the delegation and everyone involved in organizing the visit. Sunshiki remains committed to building industry through seaweed technology.
