Sunshiki Featured in Weekly Economist's "Challenger" Column (March 31, 2026 Issue)

Sunshiki Co., Ltd. CEO Ryo Kubota was featured in the "Challenger" column of Weekly Economist (published by Mainichi Shimbun Publishing), in the March 31, 2026 issue.

The "Challenger" column is a popular recurring feature that spotlights entrepreneurs taking on new industries and technologies. In this issue, Sunshiki's mission to develop and commercialize methane-reducing feed additives derived from the red seaweed Asparagopsis was covered across a two-page spread.

The article highlights the potential of Asparagopsis to reduce enteric methane emissions from cattle by up to 98% — methane being a greenhouse gas 28 times more potent than CO₂ — along with Sunshiki's joint research with Kochi University and its path toward international expansion.
